Greenpeace has released reports that rank both Canadian and American supermarkets according to their commitments to seafood sustainability. This includes not selling fish from unsustainable or threatened fisheries to providing proper labeling for their seafood and canned tuna products.
The Canadian report is titled “Emerging from the Deep: Ranking Supermarkets on Seafood Sustainability“.
The report from Greenpeace USA is titled “Carting Away the Oceans“.
Both reports provide a good in depth analysis of the sustainability practices of the major supermarkets in North America and a summary on the state of our oceans and fishing practices.
